Ph.D. degree in concerned/allied/relevant discipline
Minimum 10 research publications in peer-reviewed/Scopus/Web of Science/JNU Academic Index journals
Total research score of 120 as per UGC Regulations 2018 (Appendix II, Table 2)
Minimum 10 years of teaching/research experience (with evidence of guiding doctoral candidates)
OR outstanding professional with Ph.D. and 10 years experience
For Associate Professor:
Ph.D. degree in concerned/allied/relevant discipline
Master’s degree with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwD)
Minimum 8 years of teaching/research experience equivalent to Assistant Professor
Minimum 7 publications in peer-reviewed/Scopus/Web of Science/JNU Academic Index journals
Total research score of 75 as per UGC Regulations 2018 (Appendix II, Table 2)
For Assistant Professor:
Master’s degree with 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwD) in concerned/relevant/allied subject
NET (UGC/CSIR) or SLET/SET qualification
Ph.D. degree holders (as per UGC Regulations 2009/2016) exempted from NET with conditions:
Ph.D. awarded in regular mode
Thesis evaluated by at least two external examiners
Open viva-voce conducted
Two research papers from Ph.D. work published (at least one in refereed journal)
Two papers presented in conferences/seminars sponsored by UGC/ICSSR/CSIR or similar agency
OR Ph.D. from foreign university ranked among top 500 in QS/THE/ARWU (Shanghai) at any time
Note: 5% relaxation at Bachelor’s and Master’s level for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwD categories. Additional 5% relaxation (55% to 50%) for Ph.D. holders who obtained Master’s degree prior to 19 September 1991.
